Showers Increasing Across Western Maricopa County

Scottsdale Arizona News -- The National Weather Service in Phoenix says showers were starting to develop across Western Maricopa County from Wickenburg south towards Gila Bend at 7 PM MST. The weather service said showers were moving towards the Northeast at 25 mph.

Tonights weather service forecasts says showers will increase in coverage and intensity the remainder of tonight.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Southern Gila County and the Tonto National Forest Foothills - including the cities of Globe, Miami and San Carlos.

The winter weather advisory remains in effect from midnight tonight to 5 PM MST Sunday.

The National Weather Service predicts that between three and five inches of snow will fall above 5,000 feet from midnight tonight through Sunday afternoon.

Current temperature at Scottdale Airport 61ºF and cloudy.
